| Adding Text To
Buttons in PSP 7.0
Step 1: Open your Paint Shop Pro and go to "file", "open". Now, a box will open and you'll be able to find the graphic you're wanting to add text to. Just click on the graphic, and then the open button. Now you should have your graphic open on your screen.
|
|
Step 2:The graphics you get will probably already be saved to a lower color depth so in order to get a nice text on the graphic, you'll need to increase the colors. Go to "Colors", and scroll down the menu that opens to "Increase Color Depth", and when the next menu bar opens, choose "16 Million Colors (24bit)". Now your graphic is ready to add text to...:)
|
|
Step 3: On the tool bar you'll see a icon like you see in the picture to the left. Click on that. Then, left click anywhere on your graphic.
|
| Step
4: A box like the one to
the below will appear. You'll be able to choose the font type, size,
and colors. Be sure to choose the "fill" color only. Just
left click on it and a color box will open for you to choose the color
you want. Be sure to check the "floating" and "antialias" boxes. The "antialias" box gives your text a softer appearance. Play around with the look you want. Then click on "ok". If you don't like what you ended up with...just click on the undo arrows in the tool bar.
|
|
Step 5:When you've got the text typed that you want, just click "OK" in the text add box, you'll end up with a graphic and text that has the "marching ants" around the letters. This will allow you to move the text around on the button to center it. Just put your cursor over the text until the arrowed crosshair cursor appears. Then use your left click and while you hold it down, move the text where you want it. Once it's where you want it, right click and the ants will disappear.
|
| Step 6:
You're left with a graphic with text! Great job! If you don't
like how it looks, just click on "Edit", and scroll down to
"Undo", and you will have the "marching ants"
again for you to move around, or keep clicking on "Undo",
and you will have a blank button or banner to start again. Once you've
got the button or banner the way you like it, just go up to
"File" and "Save As". Make SURE you use "SAVE
AS", and NOT "Save". Or you will lose your original
blank button. Now just repeat the steps for all the buttons or banners you want to add text to...:)
